Conducting National Human Trafficking Awareness Day Campaign
The Magway Region Human Rights Network (MHRN) and its partner organizations organized a successful National Human Trafficking Awareness Day campaign on January 11, 2024, in Myanmar with the support of New Myanmar Foundation (NMF). The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of human trafficking, educate the community on how to identify and report potential cases, and encourage collaboration among local stakeholders to combat this issue.
The campaign activities included a public awareness discussion, featuring presentations by organisers on human trafficking, survivor testimonies, and discussions on prevention strategies, covering topics such as different forms of human trafficking, vulnerabilities, warning signs, and available resources. The campaign achieved significant outcomes, including increased awareness among community members, empowerment of communities with valuable information and resources, strengthened collaboration among local stakeholders, and amplified messages through extensive media coverage, reaching a broader audience beyond Magway Region.
